Robert O. Cotes is Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and an inpatient psychiatrist at Grady Memorial Hospital.

He is the director of several outpatient programs at Grady, including Open Dialogue Atlanta, launched with a grant from the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care in 2016. Dr. Cotes has led and consulted on numerous research projects and published papers in peer reviewed journals such as Schizophrenia Research and Neuropsychopharmacology. He has been recognized with honors and awards for his scholarship, teaching, and patient care by universities, by his students and by the community he serves.
